As you may have heard, Google recently launched their first phone ever! The Google Pixel is fully supported and branded as a Google product, unlike the Nexus line. So if you are considering purchasing the new Google Pixel or if you’ve already bought it, you’ll probably want to know these great tips and tricks.
The Google Pixel has a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone that also acts as a gesture control. Swipe down to see any notifications you may have and to access a bar of six quick settings. Swipe down a second time to expand the quick settings bar. This lets you view all nine options and the screen brightness slider. Swipe up to close the bar. It’s that simple.
Pro Tip: If gesture control isn’t working, go to Settings > Moves and enable “swipe for notifications”.
Yep. You can use your Pixel to charge another device! Just use the USB Type-C to Type-A adapter that comes in the box. Connect your other device's cable into the adapter, and plug it into your Pixel. You’ll be the new life saver within your group of friends!
Looking at your phone in the evening can give you a headache. The bright light can be unwelcoming at times and not to mention, bad for your eyes. With the Google Pixel you can turn on Night Light, giving the phone a yellow/warm tone rather than a harsh blue. To access this feature, go to Settings > Display and choose the Night Light. You can even schedule the light to change at a certain time like by sunrise or sunset. You can also specifically choose days and times that you want the Night Light feature to come on.
Are you someone that can’t remember where you parked or what your gym locker combination is? You can now rest easy knowing Google Assistant will help you remember it. Just tell the your new assistant what you want it to remember and when you ask for it when you need it, Google Assistant remembers!
The Pixel comes with one of the most advanced cameras available. So if you’re working on your photography skills, you’re in for a treat.
Why is the Pixel’s camera the most advanced out there? Two words. Lens blur.
Lens blur is ideal for close-up shots of objects and people. You can access this feature in the camera app by swiping right and then choosing Lens Blur. The best part? The camera will walk you through how to take a shot with the background blurred. Next time you want to take a photo, impress your friends with your awesome new camera thanks to the Google Pixel.
Armed with these tips, you’ll be a Google Pixel PRO in no time!
